Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world today. Since a brutal civil war erupted in 2023, the country has descended into chaos.
Two-thirds of Sudan’s population, nearly 30 million people, now require humanitarian aid, and over 11 million have been displaced, creating the largest displacement crisis in the world. Food insecurity is catastrophic. 24.6 million struggle to find enough to eat, and two million are on the verge of famine.
Families face violence and starvation. Hospitals are down, water is scarce, and diseases spread. In besieged cities like El Fasher, Darfur, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile, civilians lack food, medicine, and shelter. Parents must choose between remaining amid airstrikes or fleeing.
