Day 1 : Electric Mountain
Miles: 30-40miles
Elevation: 3,000 ft
🚴♂️ Electric Mountain, Llanberis: A Road Cyclist’s Hidden Gem in Snowdonia
Tucked into the dramatic landscape of Snowdonia, Electric Mountain (Dinorwig Power Station) offers one of North Wales’ most distinctive road cycling experiences. While the mountain itself is famous for its underground hydro‑electric power station, the surrounding roads deliver a rewarding mix of smooth tarmac, steep gradients, and unforgettable views across Llyn Padarn and the Glyderau range.
Day 2 : Stwlan Dam
Top 100 climbs in the UK
Miles: 60 - 70miles
Elevation: 6,000 ft
The Stwlan Dam road bike climb in Snowdonia, Wales, is an iconic, challenging, and beautiful ride, famous for its multiple tight switchbacks (hairpins), stunning views over the lake and mountains, and being largely traffic-free, making it a "must-do" for UK road cyclists. It's often compared to European alpine climbs, with steep gradients, particularly in the final sections, but rewarded with epic scenery and a great sense of achievement.
Day 3 : Recovery Ride
Miles: 20 miles
🚴♂️ Day 3: Recovery Ride — Reset, Refresh, and Roll Easy
After two big days in the Welsh mountains, Day 3 is all about letting the legs breathe. A recovery ride isn’t about speed or elevation — it’s about movement, rhythm, and giving your body the chance to absorb the hard work you’ve already done. Today’s route keeps things gentle, scenic, and enjoyable, offering the perfect balance of active recovery and exploration.
A well‑planned recovery day helps you:
Flush out fatigue with light, steady pedalling
Restore energy levels without adding unnecessary strain
Keep the body moving to maintain mobility and comfort
Enjoy the landscape at a relaxed, conversational pace
This is the day to sit up, look around, and enjoy being on the bike.
